What hair color dye damages your hair the less?

I want to color my hair but i need a hair dye that damages my hair very little or nothing at all cuz my hair tends to fall a lot and for that matter i have some frizzy hairs. My hair is black and thick and i want to color it chocolate brown. Any suggestions on a really good hair dye and where I can get it?What hair color dye damages your hair the less?
I assume you don't want to go to a salon...so, any one that does not have ammonia in it and non-permanent will be perfectly good. This is offered by many makers - Loreal , Clairol....to name a few. You just put it on..wait about 25 minutes...wash it out and voila...the new you! Have fun but note you will have to redo it about every 6-8 weeks. What hair color dye damages your hair the less?

id go for a semi or quasi-permanent. try not to use home colours there no good 4 your hair. the best thing to do is go to a salon and get them to to do a few strand tests to see if your hair will lift easily to the colour you want and to see if it causes any damage. usually free of charge!

im a hairdresser u will never get a hair color that wont damage ur hair at all so matter what ne one says. jus cuz it says no amonia doesnt mean no damage. try a beauty school salon there vry cheap n just as good. they control each section = no over process= less breakage.

Go with ammonia free hair dye. Only go two shades darker or lighter. It is harder to get your hair lighter. I tried to dye my hair from blonde to brown and it would not take i used feria , i would use clariol. They seem like the best bet. Good luck

if you use a hairdye with no ammonia, they use a different ingredient which does the same thing. so you're basically better of using the ammonia formula. ammonia swells the shaft %26amp; allows for color penetration. the least damaging colors are Professional Colors. Wella Koleston Perfect or Color Touch

I use Clairol Naturals...in the brown box. It is the one that looks brown like a paper sack. It is the only one I have found that is mild, with no peroxide, and leaves my hair wonderfully silky. You can get it at almost any store...Wal Mart, Target, K Mart...It runs about $8 a box, but hey, aren't you worth it?!?!?
a semi-permanent one
well my friends mom works for CHI and there hair products do not damage your hair, if it did, i would have no hair beacuase i dye my hair about every week.

you can look for CHI on the internet
The shades that are closest to your natural color- if you have to lighten your hair, it requires double process which is more damaging.
