Hair color Advice? Please?

It's sorta hard to pick a wide arrange of hair colors for me, since I can only stay dark because of my skin tone? Im Latino/Portuguese.

I want either blonde or reddish brown. NO blacks and browns. Any GOOD shades for me?

could I pull off this color?:

http://www.garnierusa.com/img/our_produc/a>Hair color Advice? Please?
YES. Before I even looked at the picture of the hair you'd like to have, I thought, ';She'd make an excellent redhead.';Hair color Advice? Please?
I honestly think that your natural color is gorgeous on you, but if you really want to dye it, I would suggest darker tones, dark reddish brown highlights in a dark chestnut color. The color you are interested in would not only look extremely fake on you, but might look tacky in a bad way, especially in contrast with your eyebrows; the color is just a few shades too bright. Of course, it depends on what kind of a look you want; if you just want to stand out and be unique, I guess it'd be okay, but I think you'd stand out much more with darker reds, simply because people would be drawn to your gorgeous face with your hair embellishing it and framing it instead of taking all the attention away.

Fact is, if your hair color is too extreme, people will look at your hair from afar, instead of noticing you.

Please don't take this as offense, but if I were to see someone with your hairstyle in that color from behind(not knowing what your face looks like yet), I would expect (through stereotyping) to see a little pimply emo kid with little self esteem or respect for herself. Your first impression has far more potential than that.

Again, I'd suggest highlights for sure. Try a reddish brown that glimmers in the light, but is dark enough to look classy. Good luckk~
red's aren't really the best . i don't think the colour is good for you. i like your colour now. maybe a few shades darker.

here are some nice ones:

garnier nutrise iced macchiato

or

if you really love a red brown then

roasted coffee is great!

the only reason why i like the auburn colored hair was because of how the person did it.

but to me personally, i liked your picture better with darker hair. it looks more natural.

and it doesn't kill your hair as bad if you like over process and bleach your hair.Hair Color Advice Please?
I think you look fine with anything but the platinum, its to light for your skin the auburn would look realllyy nice though.

Im not sure what your exact style is, but you might like this, i do (: :

Would I look good blonde? hair coloring advice would be helpful :)?

I've always wanted to be blonde but I don't know if it would look good with my skin tone. maybe some highlights? my skin is slowly getting darker from tanning (I know it bad for me! but I use a tanning oil with spf)

thanks.

I'd say no. I'm a hairdresser and I have this conversation with my clients all the time. Not everyone is meant to be blonde. I actually think you would look better with DARKER hair (and a new haircut, as your fringe is somewhat uneven and it needs to be a little shorter). I would love to get my hands on your hair. I would do an all-over warm brown color. Just like a really rich mocha color. Then just through the top, I'd put really fine dark blonde highlights....not anything golden blonde but something just a few shades lighter than the all over mocha. I'd do it like a partial foil just through the top and sides just to break up the all over color and make the color a little more personalized. You'd have very fine, natural looking dark blonde highlights. This would look more natural and go much better with your skin tone. And by keeping the blonde somewhat darker than the typical beachy summer blonde, it would grow out better and you wouldn't have such noticeable outgrowth and, thus, could go longer inbetween retouches. Your hair would also not look like you have to go get it colored, which is always great for people who want to be blonde. Then I'd take your hair up a few inches, about an inch above the shoulders. It would great with a lot of layers. It was kind of hard to see the layers in the pic you gave, but I'd probably start the layers right at the cheek bone. It will give the hair more interest, and frame your face more. I would connect the fringe (bangs) to the rest and you'd have all these funky, gorgeous pieces that would hide when all your hair is down and fall out around your face when you put it up in a pony tail. So yes, if you stayed a darker blonde (tell your hairdresser you want level 7/8 highlights) with a mocha brown base (tell your hairdresser you want the base/main color to be a level 4/5 mocha or level 5 warm) then you could pull off a blonde. But if you're thinking Jessica Simpson/Paris Hilton blonde, I'd say no, you couldn't be a blonde, even with the tan. I'm a natural blonde and even I color it darker just because of the undertones of my skin. You have the same undertones I do and that's the biggest reason I'd say no to being blonde. A good example of the haircolor is Jessica Alba, although I'd keep your blonde highlights a little less golden than hers are right now.

If you want some examples and/or pictures of the cut and/or color, feel free to email me. Yes to dark blonde no to Paris Hilton blonde. Good luck and I hope this helps you.Would I look good blonde? hair coloring advice would be helpful :)?
yea you would but you should keep your skin tone the way it is..most models are light skin btw!..anyways i think you should do a very light blone like the olsen twin in this pic but the same light color in the front where your bangs are as well

http://wallpapers.skins.be/olsen-twins/olsen-twins-1024x768-16509.jpg
OMG you would look g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s you shouldnt go to light though... and use the healthy king of coloring stuff, or go to a profesional....

good luck!!!
I think you would look better with your current hair color.

You COULD pull off blonde hair, but the hair color you have now makes you look pretty.
Year, you could pull off a darker blonde with some lighter (two shades lighter than your hair color MAX) highlights.
yeah but don't do it!!!!

the red/brown makes you look mysterious and interesting.

take it from me i regretted going blonde alot!
Yup :]

but id personatlly go with a chestnut brown.

But it would look good blonde if you kept up on it to get rid of the roots ;)
wow your beautiful! dont go platinum. highlights would be good...especially in your bangs.
OMG i LOVE your eyes!!!!! lol yea random i no... umm yea i could totally picture you as a blond!! go for it if you want. just make sure your completelly sure your not gonna regret it later. =]]]]]]
NO, you are beautiful already
You would look good as a dark/dirty blonde.

Definitely go for it! You're soooooooo pretty!
i thkn high lights would be best.. your hair color right now is pretty though.. but highlights with blond and maybe even some light brown would look great :0)
Dirty blonde would look cute.
i would do the highlights...i think blonde hair would make you look a little sallow. try for darker highlights tho
Blonde would look really nice
A dark brown with some red maybe
you would look fabulous blonde!!

i am not sure what color to dye it.

during the summer i dyed it blonde, so it came out as a light reddish brown, and i sort of want to dye it that color again.

but i also want my hair to be dark.

any suggestions on what to do?

please and thank you.

I need hair color advice?
Well first let me say you are a very attractive woman. My preference is that you keep your hair dark like you have it in the picture. But I can see that you could pull off other colors easily. I think you look your most natural with dark hair.I need hair color advice?
i think you are gorgeous now!
Well you look like a natural brunette so I'd stick with that, to tell the truth its hard to tell w/ photos, maybe a really rich brown with hi-lights would look good. or ask your hairstylist and go with what they say because they usually have pretty good judgement

good luck:)

OOooO i think you should dye it light reddish brown like you had, or raelly dark redish brown.
go dark its the ';fall'; color, besides you can always go back to the way it used to be. :D
o i luvv ur hair color. if anything dye if dark brown
I like the color that it is now

Hey, what do you think about this hair color? What kind of hair color do you think would look nice on me? Show me some examples.

ThanksHair color advice please?
stick with that color i would just shorten the hair a bit and give it some shape. maybe try out a side bang. right now your hair is sorta triiangular shapedHair color advice please?
A lighter brown with some red in it would lighten up your face, and make your eyes stand out more.

A darker color will overwhelm your face %26amp; skin tones, ending up with an unpleasant effect, especially if you wear black often. (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a>

However, go too light and you'll look pale as well, and it will be more of a washed out effect.

To Summarize; A red or light brown would be your best choice.
I like your haircolor but you can also go for an auburn like Kristen Stewart.
LIME, or keep it how it is but get bangs
i think auburn would look good with your skin tone and hair style

  • Hair color advice....?

Okay, so this Thursday, I'm getting the things to die my hair. I'm keeping it brown, but I'm making it a more chocolate brown so it has red undertones. Then, I'm getting bleach, so I can bleach a strip of my hair whitish, blond. The strip will come from underneath, like at the base of my neck. So in the end it'll be chocolate brown with a white strip. Do you think it'll come out okay? And are there any tips I could use to make the white strip last as long as possible? So as my friends say, it'll look somewhat scene. Not what I'm aiming for, but whatever floats your boat! :PHair color advice....?
Well being a hairstylist, I've gotta tell you that You should not do this by yourself at home. For something like this you have to go to a salon for it to turn out. Bleach is sooo dangerous if you don't know what ur doing and if you don't be careful ur chocolate will bleed into it.Hair color advice....?
If the white strip is there, than it will not fade away. It will stay, your hair will naturally grow so, you will have to redo it again when u need to.
go to a professional it might turn out brown and orange due to the red undertones

    or

    http://images.smarter.com/blogs/guests/r/a>

    or something in between

and as far as fringe goes i suggest something a little more severe using a bigger width of hair as if you were getting bangs, but then just cut a little longer so you can push them to the side.. what you have in the pic though is nice too!
one person has one face shape ,you shoule make a hair color according to your face shape and it would feel better ,but you can ask the person who will help you to make the hair color,i think her advise will better ,and you can let your friend give you a suggestion

I desperately need Hair Coloring advice.Anyone with experience, Please?

I've been dying my hair for 5 years: Black, Bleached, Red, Purple, Brown. And now i've been trying to get back to my natural color: medium-ish brown.. It's really difficult. Currently, I have three different colors going on: first i have my natural color about quarter-inch roots, then 2-inches of a red-ish brown, and the rest of my hair length is a very dark brown. It's not nice to look at. This happened because i tried different brown dyes to lighten the dark part of my hair, but it just stuck to my roots lightening them, and did nothing to the dark hair .So I discovered Color Oops! which takes the dye out of the hair, and leaves you with your natural color. I'm assuming i wont get my natural color because the end of my hair probably hasn't grown out the previous bleaching from a couple years ago. My hair is almost at my chest. Soooo, I really need help. I'm wanting to know if anyone has done this, or knows how i can fix this problem. Will i get a really bad uneven color when i use color Oops! to strip the hiar? And if so, will getting a medium brown dyed over it come out looking natural and even, or uneven? I know this is alot but i figured the more info, the more someone can give me a good answer. I'd really really appreciate some help. I wish i could go to a salon but i don't have that kind of money.I desperately need Hair Coloring advice.Anyone with experience, Please?
    I know where your at..;)

I did the same thing, though it wasnt as noticeable, what i did was choose a dark brown a few shades darker than my natural, so that it covered all my colours, and let it grow from there, that way the regrowth didnt stand out too much, and there werent as many random shades in my hair.

Might not work for you, but i hope this helps :)I desperately need Hair Coloring advice.Anyone with experience, Please?
Dye your whole head a little darker then your natural color, that way when your natural color starts to grow back in it will blend better and wont be as noticeable. You obviously know how to dye hair but when I dye my hair I use 2 boxes since my hair is so thick, even if yours is thin I would still use 2 boxes to make sure ALL of the colors are fully covered.

    Good luck!
Even though I haven't experienced such extremes, I know the feeling. Been there, done that.

So I'd go to Sally's and ask for (preferably) a different color remover. It comes in two seperate bottles but the same brand.

I'd say you're best bet is to dye it all black and then apply the remover and wait til the nearest shade of your natural color and wash it out.

I need some hair coloring advice?

ok this is how I am planning on getting my hair colored:

    http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j295/damitznitz9/?action=view%26amp;current=cutecute-1.jpg

but without the face-covering bangs %26amp; without the poof in the back.

I was asking my sister about it, and she said the girl's hair looked fried, but idk it didn't look that way to me?

Also, she said that since my hair was coarse %26amp; brown and that it would take a while for my hair to turn out that color if i bleached it.

I was wanting to know if this was true?

My hair is thick %26amp; medium brown, and ive dyed it 4 times before, not in close proximity to one another, probably over the course of 5 years.

I was wanting to know if I could get my hair to look like this?

please be as detailed as possible in your response.I need some hair coloring advice?
If the hair is dyed dark now, you will have to lift the artificial pigments out of the hair before your new shade can be created. This is done very, very carefully as different layers of dye will lift at different times and can complicate matters if not handled properly. After the section to be blonde has lifted, you will have to have at least one toner, but more likely several toners to achieve a uniform blonde on top. This is a complex colour goal and would best be trusted to a professional or an upperscale hair school with expert instructors, who would perform it for very little to demonstrate the techniques.

It will not take long to get your result, but it has to be done carefully... and afterwards, be prepared to purchase good hair care to protect your investment and new look =).I need some hair coloring advice?
That's a cute hairstyle! You can get that, you just have to bleach it for a ';not a very long'; time and don't let the hair get too much heat while bleaching it cause it can break. But that just happens if you use too much aluminium foil, so don't worry about it.

I've had pink, blonde, blue and purple chunks, so I always had to bleach it before and I had to get it even lighter than that girl's hair, almost white really, so you should be fine, just put the bleach and fold your hair with the aluminium foil and check it every once in a while to see how it looks until you get it as light as you want. It can take a while, it doesn't bleach that fast. I also have medium brown hair if that helps.

Hope this was useful to you and you get your hair to look the way you want it! :-)

P.S: Always use a hair mousse or something after you shower, bleached hair can get really dry if you don't take care of it properly.

  • I need hair coloring advice. I dyed it on my own and it turned orange, now I need to know how to fix it?

I can't really afford to go to a salon, I wish I could! So, here's what happened...I have an indescribable natural hair color, not blonde, brown or red, and all of them at the same time. I bought a dark golden blonde hair dye because it said it would bring out the reddish undertones, I wanted to lighten it (so as not to wash out my face) and thought a strawberry blonde might be nice, but after seeing the result I am very unhappy with it. For many reasons I won't bore you with I think I should dye it light ashy brown, but have heard that you can't dye ontop of dye and need to strip it first. How should I go about guessing which color will turn out the way I want it to look? any advice on what specific color to use would be appreciated, as well.I need hair coloring advice. I dyed it on my own and it turned orange, now I need to know how to fix it?
You can dye over a colour without stripping it so long as you are going darker, maybe look at medium ash brown. The red undertones may not be cancelled out, a light chestnut brown or light golden brown might be a safer bet as there will be red tones in it.

Here is a revlon colour chart as a guide

    http://www.wiggoddess.com/exclusivelyyou/a>

You have already damaged your hair by lightening it, so make sure you condition it well.

EDIT- hairbend - about the difference between dying and lightening, ' hair dying ' is just a term that a lot of people who are not professionals use to describe doing their colour at home. I dunno why people get such a bee in their bonnet about it. This girl intended to go lighter, but changed her mind about strawberry blonde. Why have a go at her?

I have been doing my own hair at home with store bought kits since I have been 13, if I don't like a shade I change it. More people do their hair at home than go to salons. The only real damage that a person can do at home is frazzling their hair by lightening too much or leaving it for too long.I need hair coloring advice. I dyed it on my own and it turned orange, now I need to know how to fix it?
best way to fix your hair is to go to the hair salon... but if you have to fix it yourself then you need to neutralize the orange with a color that has a blue base to it. but i do think you should go to a salon color is to complicated to do on your own you could really damage you hair!
I'm soory to hear you can't afford to go to the hair salon.

But, this is a one time thing, at a salon there are model of pictures you can find a look-a-like. And see if her hair looks nice in differnt color posted.

Here check out this site, it shows what hair style and color it would look nice with your hair: http://www.hairstyle.com/hair-articles/w/a>

    Good Luck
    Bleach it and start over.
Boy, have you got this all mixed up!! You really should never have used anything in the first place -- you don't know the first thing about colouring hair, and you are making a big mess. Sorry to be so blunt, but you know this is right.

You cannot ';dye'; hair blonde!! It's a bleach you used... what were you thinking, if at all??? And yes, ';golden'; means it's going to be orange. I just don't understand you at all. You say you thought, but I don't really see much signs that you did.

The first thing you should have done -- what all people do -- is have a consultation with a qualified professional hair colourist. This doesn't cost you anything, at most salons, and would have saved you so much money! Then you would have known what to do, and how.

You can't ';strip'; out the bleach! It's already been done, and that's that. It's a permanent change, and you can only cut that hair off to get rid of it. It's not paint that you can remove! Again, not thinking!!

Go see a professional right now, before you make a further mess. If you can't afford it, you should never play around with hair colour!

What do you think? Would it suit me? If not, what colour would you reccomend?

it depends on your skin tone, if your fair i'd say go for a lighter color but if your a little more tanned then i think that the dark brown would look really cuteHair coloring advice?
i have the same natural color as you and ive been blonde nearly all my life. last year i went to a medium brown to and i haven't gone back yet! i love being brown and i'm sure it will suit you well

maybe orange tones will be a good choice :)

    help me?! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;/a>
I think cooper red would be a little harsh with your skin tone. The cherry red is darker and seems like it would complement your skin tone wayy more.

    Hair color advice!!!!?

i dyed my hair light brown with blonde highlights like 1 month and half. and now i want to dye it dark brown, would the dark brown cover the blonde highlights. i need advice i dont want to mess up my hair.Hair color advice!!!!?
I don't think it will, especially if there was strong peroxide in the hair dye product that you used for your highlights, it might do if the peroxide was weak or if brown that you want to use is very dark but there is always a risk that the color my not cower all the highlights, or it just might make them a bit darker. Professional hairdresser would give you better advice on this, but you would have to know what product you used for your highlights.Hair color advice!!!!?
yes it will go over the blonde... are you planning on doing it at a salon?

if you do it at a salon then they can foil and dye the blonde at the same time that they dye it a darker brown?

if you dye it dark brown first and then try to put the blonde in - you are going to struggle...

Always you can do a strand test for yourself and decide what suits you best . More information about hair coloring at http://moreaboutcolor.blogspot.com/

Yes, you can dye it. Remember though the colour will ';grab'; the highlights.

I often highlight my hair, and then dye it in that order, because I don't like the ';striped'; or ';skunk'; look. To do this, you put the dark colour on all hair except highlights for about 20 min. For the last 5 min, put the dye on your highlights...this way you can keep the highlights.

If you dont' care about your highlights, I would put it on all the hair, but don't leave it on for the total time, you will have darker highlights (lowlights) but maybe that will look nice? You just don't want some pieces to be black, I assume.

if you have pale skin is dark hair gonna look bad??? i'm naturally a darl blond/light brown and i was go for a darker brown, a medium cool tone, cause i dont fancy it looking black either. will the darkness wash me out or will using the wrong tone wash me out??Hair coloring advice ??
you would look great im super pale and recently went deep chocolate and I love it!

if you feel washed out you can always invest in brozner to complete the lookHair coloring advice ??
If you dont want to end up looking totally emo punk or scene go for a warm toned dark brown. Get the hairdresses to add a red tone to the brown so it can pick up the natural colour tones in your skin and not make you look paler. If you get a blue undertone your skin will look colder and paler so you will look emo. Go for a warm brown and you'll be fine
if you really want to go darker it's difficult because even hairdressers can stuff it up sometimes. Maybe try a semi permanent dye first or a temporary to see how it looks on you. I think slightly golden browns always look nicer than ashy.
honestly, i think people with pale skin should absolutely NOT get dark/black hair because it complete washes them out! unless you're going for a punky/goth/scene kid look i suggest you go with something like a dark brown and get some honey(lighter brown) highlights.
i love pale skin and dark hair.. and im not into goth/emo etc either. just my opinion

    Hair color advice...?

ok so my hair is short and a caramel brown color with bleach blonde highlights. I colored it like this about 2 months ago and when i did my hair was longer and it completely fried it. I bought ion reconstructing conditioner and cut all of it off which was my original plan to do and now it seems fine again. the only problem is i recently trimmed my hair again and alot of the bleach blonde highlights are gone especially in the back. I want to get my hair re colored but my mom told me bleaching it again with bleach still in there will screw it up again. What i wanted to do was dye my hair DARK brown and get bleach blonde highlights. but i cant do that i guess. So my options seem to be: getting DARK brown lowlights, black lowlights, or dying my hair all DARK brown. Ive wanted to go darker but at the same time i like being blonde. im really confused. please help? :)Hair color advice...?
you should have put a picture up. I think going darker would be good for your hair. You could still get highlights as long as the bleach doesn't touch the already highlighted hair. Go to a salon and see what a stylist thinks.Hair color advice...?
they have pecan color and walnut color light brown .

okay so i'm like super animal activast so i wont use anything that was tested on animals but whats a hair dye thats affordable thats jet black but wont wash outHair color advice...?
Clairol does not test on animals. Any of their products should be fine.Hair color advice...?
First, I think it's great that you're an animal activist. I am too. :)

Clairol DOES test on animals. They are made by Proctor %26amp; Gamble, which is a huge animals testing company.

A great hair dye that I always use is Revlon. It's really cheap. You can find it at Target or any other strore for under $5. It doesn't wash out and it's easy to apply.

    Hope I helped.

    Hair color advice....?

I want to know what is the best hair color for medium brown skin.Hair color advice....?
A cross between chocolate brown with jet black. Either way, I think your best defense is to get it as shiny as possible.

Find a celebrity you think you resemble a little and use that as your muse. Hair color advice....?
I think any color would look good for your skin tone. It all depends on how you rock it. But If your Gabriel Union's skin tone then you should go with black/jet black. but if you feel like black is to dark then Sun Kissed Brown would be a much softer tonfor you. I use Dark And Lovely. It leaves my hair soft after i dye it.
jet black, browns, aurburns, reds , some blondes will work with your skin color =]

    hope this helps
try light brown or strawberry brownish colored hair. it looks great. my aunts friend tried it.

    Hair color advice!?

I currently have medium ash brown hair. I am very cool toned, as I have very light alabaster skin and grey eyes. I was wondering what colours would best compliment my colouring.Hair color advice!?
I would go one shade darker brown with a burgundy tinting sliced with blond every other so it would be (dark brown, blond, dark brown, burgundy, dark brown) in foils alternating on the crown, but underneath which is called a shadow leave it just the dark brown. The dark brown will set off the other colors and the burgundy will need to be almost a red they will have 3 shades or so to chose.Hair color advice!?
Add a lighter color to your hair. Try getting your natural hair color and adding some highlights to it!
Are you planning on doing it at home? Because my advice to most people is find someone who's hair color job you really like, find out who their colorist is and book an appointment. Doing your own color at home is a crap shoot- the hair strips at the store are done on white synthetic hair, and aren't a true likeness to what you'll end up with. Find a salon that has a colorist on staff, not someone who does cuts and colors. They're trained solely in the art of hair dyeing and can advise you on the best shade for your skin tone and eyes. You might consider high and low lights for more depth and less maintenance.
Highlights or Low-lights or even both depending on how dramatic you want your change to be.Highlight with a cool light blonde, if you can find a salon that does Scruples Blazing Color that would be beautiful, and add some smaller low-lights with a bit warmer color like a neutral base medium brown, like a caramel or tawny tone...Tell your stylist to make sure that the low-light isn't too warm so that it will still compliment your natural tones...
    just add some lighter hilights!
Truthfully, everybody's natural hair color is always the best for the coloring. Be happy the way you are!
and some lighter highlights that would look cute

Hey, so I have dark brown/black hair and I want to change it. I'm hispanic and I just came back from the beach so I am tan. Any suggestions in hair colors I can dye my hair to?

Maybe tint it so it's a honey brown with darker highlights. You don't want to go too light because you have darker skin and it would look funny. Trust me, my friends family is Italian and her cousin has bleached blonde hair and it does NOT look good!!!Hair color advice?
why dont you try highlights instead of dyeing all your hair and you can use temporary high lights first so you can see if you like it or not maybe a bronze or blonde colour.

i have 4 colors... BLEACH BLOND, BLUEBERRY BLACK, BLUE and BRIGHT BRIGHT RED(the blue and black are semi permanent Punky Color. bleach blonde and blue berry black are permanent colors...)

i have all those colors, short spikable hair, someone give me some advice as to waht to do with the colors, (going to the VANCOUVER PRIDE PARADE on sunday so doing my hair up for the day :D anyways let me know some advice...Hair coloring Advice?
What is your color now? And is it natiral or artificial?

Bleach blonde that comes from a drugstore box will only work well if you have light hair to begin with. Anything darker than medium- to light brown will turn out orange. These bleaching kits are not strong enough. You need to bleach 3-4 times with professional products in order to get dark hair to be blonde.

Bleach blond might do terrible things if your hair is colored with a metallic dye. Semi-permanent colors that didn't wash off are likely candidates. Like, turning your hair ugly green color.

So, unless you're prepared for a lot of trouble, stay away from Blonde.

I'd say, use blue and black semi-permanent. Like, apply blue everywhere, let it develop, wash, dry, then apply black to the roots, let develop, wash, dry. Or apply black to the tips, depending what look you like better.

Keep in mind it is easy to get hair darker. It is hard to get them lighter. It is true for both professional and at-home coloring. If you dye your hair to black, prepare to have black hair for a long time.

Oh yeah, if you insist that you want blonde, get some powder called ';jet blue'; and some developer that goes with it. It's professional strenght stuff, and it won't do funny things.Hair coloring Advice?
dont take out a brown dye from your hair...my dad did that and it turned red!

    Hair color advice please?

    FULL STORY:

I had my hair professionally dyed reddish brown in August. The color washed out a bit, I did it myself using a golden brown. Which again faded %26amp; in November, I believe I dyed it an ash brown. This was the last time I dyed it.

The color has faded considerably into a reddish light brown which is not flattering on me. I hate the color but abstained from using dye to reducing damage since I've dyed my hair so much. It also has a green tint which can be seen in bright light, I assume because hair is porous due to dye.

SHORT STORY: My hair is now a reddish light brown that I hate. It has an odd green tint to it due to the fact that my hair is porous (b/c of damage). The last time I dyed it was around Nov.

    THE PROBLEM:

Should I go to the salon and get highlights and/or lowlights?

OR should I do it myself. If so, I was planning on using Clairol's new Perfect 10 hair color that claims to reduce damage.

I want to go lighter to blonde.

Ask questions, I'll answer right away. :]Hair color advice please?
i think go to the salon and get the hair color you wantHair color advice please?
i just got my hair cut and the hairdresser cut it way too short so i kinda feel your pain LOL...... but i think that you should get golden yellow highlights in the salon....b/c my cousin did her highlights at home and got her mom to help but it didn't turn out so good and her hair got even dryer and it quickly damaged her hair even more.....i think golden yellow (NOT A BRIGHT SHADE OF YELLOW) would look awsome on you because reddish brown hair is sort of light because of the red and sort of dark because of the brown and golden yellow is right in between (not too dark or too light) like your hair.....

P.S. remember if you do take my advice DO NOT HIGHLIGHT YOUR HAIR A BRIGHT YELLOW!.....and good luck! hope i turned your problem into a solution!! :P
You should really get to a good salon since you have damage. With a green tint, it's not likely that over the counter products will work. Could turn into a disaster. A professional will be able to fix this for you. But you're still going to have to maintain your color a lot for a while since it is damaged. Treat yourself to salon visits regularly for a good 4-6 months! Much Luck
Well, I mean, the salons are there to do it for you, and chances are that they will do it well... If you want to go lighter blond, you should stick with the highlights I guess, and do you use the special shampoo for dyed hair? becuase it's supposed to reduce fading, and it does.
don't color it. your best bet is to put a rinse in it. because if you already have chemicals such a perm in your hair your hair will break off!! and if you dont have chemicals just make sure your stylist has been coloring hair for a long time because if they leave u under the dryer for a long time...your hair could be damaged forever

    Hair color advice?

I colored my hair from blonde to ashy brunette and I hate it. How do I go back to blonde w/out bleaching my hair and damaging it? Any color product I should ask my stylist to use?Hair color advice?
if you used a rinse and its been less than 48 hours, you can reverse by letting lemon juice set on your har for a few hours sit in the sun with it if you can then use a neutralizing shampoo. If it is permanent color you'd do best to go to a professional because it will require bleaching unless you are very good with that. Anyway why did u do it? Us brunettes are always trying to get blond and you wanted brunette? Us women are never satisfied are we? LOLHair color advice?
Try a darker brown, make it look more natural don't dye it black, just ask your stylist what would suit you best.
well just start dying it lighter and lighter brunnete and soon you can dye it blonde again
Talk to your colorist. He or she will know exactly what is needed to reverse the process
Below site will definitely help you. Its all about Hair Color.
Going to a stylist would be the best bet. He/she should know exactly what to use. I made the mistake of going from very light beige blonde to dark amber. When I tried to go back by myself (using bleach) I turned orange. Spent weeks of trying strawberry blonde, ash blonde, etc., just to get rid of the ';clown'; color. A stylist may even want to go back slowly with highlights. No matter what you do, coloring will damage your hair. I'm living proof. Good luck.
i would not suggest doing this your self, go to a salon and have them do it, they know what they are doing and their products are a lot better than what you buy in the store.

    Hair coloring advice!?

I tried to color my hair blonde today and when i washed it out and blow dryed it it wasnt the color i wanted it to be.. it turned out brown.. pretty much the same color i started with.. so if i color it again tomorrow will it fry it??Hair coloring advice!?
The reason that it didn't change much is that box color can only darken your hair, it really can't lighten it. If you try again tomorrow it will most likely fry. What I suggest is that you go see a cosmetologist to lighten your hair and if you ever want to darken it you can use boxed color but to lighten it I would go see a professional.Hair coloring advice!?
With dark hair, it's always better to have your hair done professionally when going to blonde. Otherwise, you end up with weird orange colors! You'll want to wait about 3 weeks before having it done (or trying again, which I don't recommend)
if you have dark hair, you have to bleach. you should wait a few weeks if you're going to bleach.
bleach it then color it the color you want so its not bleach blonde
Try bleaching it. You might have to wait a few days. Just now try to deep condition it so it will be ok when you bleach it.
    Peroxide
    .
Ok. to get dark ash blond you need a pro.

If you really need to do it yourself you can come close. Here is what you need to know.

To get from brown to blond you go thru red and orange. You may need to lighten (strip) your hair 2 times to get past the reds. You may still end up with a redish blond shade. You will have to color over this and may not end up with the dark ash blond you want.

    How long is your hair?

Mine is waist length and I need 5 boxs of lightener for the 1st time 5 boxs of lightener for the 2nd time and then you would need 5 boxs of color. The pro may be cheaper.

You will look on the box for the word lightener and it may say will lighten 3, 5 or 7 shades in one use. This is what you are looking for. If you can't find this in your store and you are in the USA go to sally's beauty supply and ask for the bleach it may still take 2 uses to get past the reds and oranges.

Warning!! This will damage your hair as will any lightening process. I would start on friday then use a ph balanced shampoo then lighten again sat. then use the shampoo. Then color on sunday. Good luck.

    Hair Coloring Advice!?

I tried a semi-permanent home hair coloring kit a few days ago to make my blonde hair a little darker to match my natural color. I wasn't satisfied with the result (ashy brown) so I used a permanent dye called ';Dark Golden Blonde'; over that. The result is a weird, reddish brownish color. What did I do wrong and any advice?

    Thanks!Hair Coloring Advice!?
My advice right now is to go purchase a bleach toner - 20 volume developer. Since your hair is already brown (lightish I'm guessing?) 20 volume would work. What it's going to do is lighten your hair to a dark blonde shade (ACTUAL BLONDE). It might turn it orange or brassy yellow. Any which way it does (as long as it is in a blonde stage) is good. Then you can proceed to dyeing over it (after a day) with the new blonde color you choose.

That was your mistake the first time. You should have bleached it or pre-lightened it first, then dye it.Hair Coloring Advice!?
what different hair color companies call ';dark golden blonde'; varies. sometimes ';dark blonde'; actually means what i would consider brown. sometimes also hair that is more porous (damaged from coloring it or from whatever other reason) can sometimes grab color darker than more healthy hair would. most likely, the color should fade pretty quickly either way since you put it over blonde hair. if it doesn't fade soon and you can't stand waiting, you can always try a color stripper too. you can get it at sally's or any other beauty supply store. a color stripper takes artificial color out of hair and would bring it back to the blonde you had before.
maybe the colour you have first, wasnt a good match to the one you used second. or perhaps u kept it on to long or not long enough ? hairdressers can fix this if ur not satisfied.
    you needed some toner...

you can get it at hottopic

    http://www.superdrug.com/invt/113719

To get it really vivid would it be better to bleach it firstHair Coloring advice?
I'd advise you not to use these colours at all as they are generally rubbish - however if you feel you must, if you have dark hair yes you will need to bleach it a lot to make it vivid, BUT i would suggest you bleach one strand first and do a strand test to save yourself a lot of grief if it does go wrong.Hair Coloring advice?
The link took forever to load, so I didn't get to see it. But try to avoid bleaching your hair. If you have naturally dark hair and are trying to go red, then you will probably have to prelighten it, but if you have fairly light hair I would avoid bleaching it at all costs. Bleaching can be very damaging to your hair, especially if you plan on coloring it immediately after.
XXL products are not the best out there i would go to sallys and look though there colour book and find something you really like they will explain how to mix it all, also having red hair si a nightmare as i have it myself and need to re-dye my hair every 2 weeks due to fading.
Dont die your hair that colour

i know three people who have beleached their hair first and then died it this colour,

their hair turned BRIGHT ORANGE. not red proper orange. this brand of hair dye is terrible.

  • Hair color advice please!?

    okay, so here's my story:

I grew up with bleach blonde hair. As I got older, it started to darker so I started getting highlights. By time time I got to high school, my hair was super blonde, but it wasn't so natural anymore. My roots were pretty dark in comparison and I got sick of it. So I dyed my hair brown. Then I started dying it on my own. I kept going a little bit dark every time so now it's a dark, chocolate brown. So naturally, in comparison, my roots are really light, which looks terrible. I thought my hair would darker because thats what happened to my mom. But it hasn't and I'm thinking I want to dye my hair blonde again. Not as super blonde as I was, but more of my natural, dark blonde.

I read in a magazine about ';brunde'; which is a light shade of brown with blonde highlights. This would be closer to my natural color.

Does anyone have some advice on what I should do?

I definitely plan on going to a salon for this, not doing it myself. Then I would just maintain it myself.

But how much damage would it do to my hair to strip it of it's color? Has anyone ever done anything like this?

I use heat everyday on top of coloring it but it's relatively healthy since I take all the precautions.

    Anything would help! Thanks!

(ps. I've been blonde before so I'm not worried about how I'll look with it or anything. My main thing is I want to minimize or even stop coloring my hair.)Hair color advice please!?
I have the same exact natural color! :D i dyed my hair myself. I frosted it which is like super light blonde almost white. I only dyed it in little tiny strands, but I made a lot of strands dyed. After i washed it a few times, the white washed off a little and settled into a BEAUTIFUL blonde! :D i love my hair now!! The dye just looks so natural! so natural, in fact I only need to dye my hair rarely. last time I dyed it was last May :)

I really hope this helps!!! :)Hair color advice please!?
I'm going to be completely honest with you stripping and bleaching is the worst you can ever do to your hair! I recommend that you start to apply a lighter shade of brown to your roots so you can gradually lighten, it is a pain. But i lost over six inches from trying to strip my hair, and it hasn't grown right ever since.
im not sure if im helping tho my mom did kinda the same thing she went from a dark brown to black and it wuz too much to color all the time so she bleached it to get back to the dark brown. it didnt really damage her hair and she dies it a lot less so i think ull b safe bleaching ur hair back. good luck!!
I think you should do the brunde and then grow it out. That way you wont have to worry so much about using so many chemicals especially with the heat. Ask your colorist what will have the least maintenance.
You're going through the same thing I am! I've colored myself so much that I just wanted to get back to my natural color so I could stop coloring it!

What I did was washed my hair as much as I could to try and fade the dark brown out of my hair. Then I went to my hair stylist and had her gradually add lighter brown highlights and caramels to achieve a light color. Now after about the second time of going to the salon my hair is much lighter and much closer to my natural color. So now I barely have to visit the salon to cover up my roots. Hope this helps. Good luck!

    Hair Color Advice!!?

I want to color my hair a new shade for the summer. I have a pale/ pale complection with peachy/pink undertones. My eyes are hazel, sometimes green sometimes almost golden. I've had light brown hair with highlights but my hair always turns blonde in the sun. Now, after the winter/spring i have a med.-dark rich brown hair color that is fading. My roots are lighter than my current hair color, so i'm not sure which color would look best. Lighter shades look better but i have dark brown eyebrows. So, if you have any ideas for hair colors for the summer please suggest them.

also the sun tends to bring out golden and reddish tones in my hair.

That color is gorgeous!! You may wanna add a lighter colored highlight to it though that would really shine the sun. with your pale skin[im pale as well with peachy pink undertones] dark hair with lighter highlights would look amazingHair Color Advice!!?
that color is cute but get it more auburn. if you have dark eyebrows DO NOT go blonde because I find that to be one of the most unattractive combinations a person can make!

I would personally go dark brown with red undertones, but I don't know if it fits your style.
Try going drastically dark. I think dark hair with a light complection looks nice!

sorry i asked this already but it got deleted....

my hair is naturally blonde with dirty blonde underneath, but i also have lighter [but not extremely different] highlights mostly on the top layer.

i was wondering if i should leave it like that, or dye the underneath part blonde to match, or dye it black/darker so it looks better than just dirty blonde.....

or ??? i have no idea, just looking for some advice. =]

i think that u should cut some really short layers into your hair, that will thin it out and also show the underside, dye more.

i also think that u should dye the bottom dark brown, but not black with ur skin tone,

with that style it could look really cute curly but i know it will look good straight!Hair color advice ?_?
You would look great with some more shades of blonde added in. The top is really light, so you could add some caramel lowlights and some more similar colors in there just for depth. I wouldn't put anything darker with your skin and eye color, and you have no need for any lighter shades at all.
I think If I were doing your hair I would lighten all of it then go back and add some low lights, I know your hair is blond but I would make it even lighter. then do the low lights that will help blend it all together.
I think your hair color looks great. Lightening the bottom would look unnatural. As for the two toned look? Sooo over.

Unfortunately if you want to go lighter, you won't be able to use the wash out products since they only dye your hair like your natural color or darker.

If you want to even out your hair then go for the shade that's darker on your hair and maybe a shade darker than that so that you can actually cover it up a bit longer since it will wash out.

I am extremely bored with my hair...It is naturally black...I have within the past year however dyed it light brown to dark brown back to black, someone told me that now I won't be able to dye over the black dye in my hair...Is this true? It's been almost 6 months since I dyed in black...Will I in any way be able to dye my hair maybe brown/red?Hair Coloring Advice?
i would go to a salon-- because color does not lift out color. and black is the darkest of colors.so the only thing to remove it is bleach-- or hair color remover but if you dont know what your doing it could get really really messy and bad.

while the new groth of your hair wont have a problem its the ends that will.

you could use a really pretty dark cherry red on your hair and it would gradually be darker on the ends.....

but really i would go to a salon!Hair Coloring Advice?
Of course you can. You can dye over any color including previously colored hair. It doesn't affect it at all.
you can dye over almost anything... although since you are dying over the darkest color, it will be quite hard to tell unless you bleach. if you did a red, then it would show up a little easier (based on my past experience)

if you really are unsure, go to your stylist for the best advice.

I think having it blonde will make you stand out more. I also think that the more colors in your hair, I think the prettier you can be. You can pull off the multi color look.Hair color advice please?
It looks nice as it is with some highlights
You are def. better as a brunette ..it matches your eyes and skin tone better. (I like some highlights but don't go totally blonde)
i think a brunette look would b better for u
your skin is a bit too dark for redder tones... your color now suits you perfectly, if you ask me. but a darker brown would look good too.
i like ur hair how it is, i think brown suits u better

My friend has natural black hair and wants to put streaks of color into it. We've done this with her before, so we know how.

We've used the colors: red, pink, and yellow(for half a second, but the nickname Bumble-Bee stuck for life)

Of course she only did one color at a time. This time however she would like to do two colors: purple and green.

Do you think her black base would look good with both purple and green streaks?

P.S.: Purple and Green are her fave colors.

    Thanks.Hair color advice........?

Yeah for sure! I did that and I had people I didn't even know running up to me just so they could tell me how much they liked my hair! So, do whatever makes you happy. It will look great either way. Good luck in making your choice.=)Hair coloring advice please!?

How do I color my hair into medium blonde without ending with brassy reddish tones?

I have med brown natural hair and it was highlighted and the highlights are now growing out. I've heard of this product at Sally's beauty supply that says ';take the red out'; or something like that. You're supposed to put 5 drops of it into your hair dye.....has anyone ever heard of this? Would this work if I add that to a blonde shade or should I just strip the color and dye it? I've heard if you are going to a lighter color like from brown to blonde then you need to strip the color out first then dye it. If I strip the color what product do I need to use? Can u recommend any or give me any tips?

I had thought maybe using the new feria hi- lift browns from loreal but I would really rather go to about a medium blonde.

thanks so much :)Hair coloring advice please... :)?
use a red/gold corrector like take the red out. you can get it at any beauty supply store , like a sallys. just mix it in with your color. any time you try to lighten dark hair, it will pull red tones. also, be careful if using a stripper... i hate them but they are better on your hair than bleach. the feria works. i got mine to lift pretty well with it anyway. good luckHair coloring advice please... :)?
look around you local salons and get someone good to do it. I dyed my hair allot but sometimes i had to have someone help me. Cuz some dyes will wear out to were you have that red tint. or the blonde highlights can go turn the color way dark. trust me. For prom my hair was light brown with hightlights and i just wanted to have normal brown hair but the blonde took to it too fast and made my hair look like black. I was shocked lol. So went to a salon and got it done right.
Honestly, I recommend you to go to a specialised salon because you already have a colour base. I couldn't guarantee you that what you're going to put on your hair will turn even green!!! And I tell you this because the colours are based in metals, like copper and iron, so... you would have to go to a salon to fix it... save it, in the long term you'll spend more if you do it yourself.
Try using a clarifying shampoo before any color service. In fact, it would probably be helpful to use the clarifying shampoo at least once a week anyway to keep the mineral deposits in your hair to a minimum. You can also get a packaged water conditioner to add to bath water which will help to keep the minerals in the water from getting into your hair and skin as well.
Im sitting here with yellow hair right now, I just bleached it and Im about to put in a light blonde after. I would say that unless youve put red hair dye in before, you shouldnt have too many red tones with a lightening dye to lighten up. I on the other hand had a dark burgendy in september and in december bleached it to lighten once, then today bleached again to lighten more. Its really hard to get red out. If youre having a problem go to the pharmacy and look for Blondeissma or something else that contains peroxide. Lighten first to a shade lighter than your desired colour and then put your colour overtop. Im no hairdresser but thats what Im doing and I think its gonna look good.

    Hair color advice please!?

I have pale skin and blue eyes...(dark blue)....my natural hair color has become darker as I become older. Several years ago I went to light blond and it was good for sometime..but keeping up wasn't that easy not to mention the damage I did to my hair with bleaching....about 6 months ago I went back to my natural dark ash brown color but found that the color washed out from the blond before and 3 months ago I died my hair red-brown (dark)....so basically I have tried all basic hair colors.....now the red looks like auburn-orange...and I need to change it fast....problem is I don't really know what hue to pick....I am proud of my pale skin and blue eyes and want to contrast them....but I want a natural but unique look that compliments my tones....

Please give some advice on color.....best would be an actual picture....All comments appreciated!Hair color advice please!?
I am a hairstylist! The reason the color didn't stay is because you needed to fill the blond color in with the red that it was missing before you colored it darker. There is still hope though! The color that most compliments blue is orange, so I would stay in the gold family. I hope this helps!Hair color advice please!?
you should probably dye it back to it's natural color bc if you dye your hair a bunch it will fry and fall out. my grandma used to and now its really thin and gross, she has tons of split ends and it takes forever for her hair to grow back.
Best would be a light auburn. Since your hair naturally has red in it.
Spring is coming t oget a nice golden honey blonde tone that you can easily keep up with. You can just keep retouching your hair with highlights and you'll obtain minimal damage to your hair and scalp.

I'm sorry I don't have links, but if you want to stay looking natural, try with some highlights first! Even though it doesn't SOUND natural, blonde highlights look really nice in brown hair. It doesn't look like you're that weird scene/emo thing (they have huge blocks dyed blonde). I know a girl who had brown hair like yours who got blonde highlights. It looked really cute. ^^Hair color advice?

or some natural blonde(dark blonde), not the really white

blone, if u don't want fake.. hope that helped
I think a golden- to dark- blonde would really compliment your skin tone and eyes. Btw you have gorgeous eyessss
Hmm.... I think that if you want really different you could go blonde... but it seems like you could pull off any color so, have fun

Honestly, it's very hard to get rid of the brassy tones if you're using a store bought dye.

I'd suggest getting it coloured professionaly. It take longer to fade, and you wont have any brassy tones left. If it's out of your budget ask for it as a present for a birthday or something... or just save your money like crazy.
See a professional!!! Really think about why those little boxes come with those little conditioning treatments??? They destroy your hair! Think about the last time you got your hair or someone you knew had their hair done at a salon, did they have to do a deep conditioning treatment after??? Besides that, box color is VERY unpredictable. Consider yourself lucky that you haven'thad any problems but when will your luck run out. I fix these things all the time in my salon.
If there's a beauty school in your city, go there. You'll get good service at a great discount.
i agree!!! definitely see a professional you could really end up with a mess!!!!! take to mind the staff at sally's aren't hair stylist!
The product is probably just a toner that adds ';cool'; tones, and won't completely get rid of the red. (Any color that is called ';warm'; has red in it.) Yes, you must strip your hair of color in order to go lighter without having red in it. However, you do not have to bleach it separately and then dye it-- the right dye will already contain a bleaching agent and will bleach/color you in one step. If you are going blonde it is worth it to have it done professionally!! Cuz you will end up spending a lot more money to have it fixed after you mess it up at home! Trust me on this one, nothing is worse than a badly dyed blonde.

    Hair coloring advice ?

i've got dark blond hair and i want to go a really bright mahogany. will i have to bleach it first to get it a really vivid colorHair coloring advice ?
Depends on how dark a blond you are... I seen where by getting an extreme blond permanent color... they lift 2 levels of pigment from the hair which is enough if you are already blond... then do the vivid mahogany which also can be a permanent hair color... which you can get from walmart.

The link below will show you an example of an extreme blond product by Garnier and a light mahogany brown which on extreme blond won't be light brown.

I love your hair now, especially the style. But I think a lighter brown/caramel color would look really cute on you. Since you have blonde hair right now (which looks really pretty on you), you could maybe get natural looking highlights which would suit your skin tone. But don't go too dark.

    Good luck!Hair color advice......?
you would look awesome just make sure its not to light or to dark :P

i had some experiments done on me by the cosmo girls at the college to dark or to light is to obvious find a nice inbetween and it will be awesome
i think that would be great especially with your skin tone. just be careful though, brown colored hair[if not taken care of] will fade into any orangey lighted brown you probably won't like
no it would look cute on you.

    Hair color advice needed!?

Here's the thing...I'm 33 yrs. old. I have pale/ivory skin, hazel eyes and reddish brown hair (natural color) that tends to turn orange(ish). lol I used to dye my hair med to dark auburn. But now that I'm older, I wonder if I shouldn't stick to more of a chestnut brown.

My question is....What color hair would look good on a 33 yr. old women with ivory skin and hazel eyes?

*My hair is long with long layers...no bangs!Hair color advice needed!?
a medium reddish brown. reddish brown is in for the fall, and will continue for the next year. the red will compliment your hazel eyes, but the medium brown won't look to harsh against your pale skin.Hair color advice needed!?
    cut ur hair like posh
    A nice auburn color.
I have a question for you first? Are you trying to get rid of the 'orange' in your hair? I am your age, with Ivory skin and hazel eyes, too! I lighten my hair...not too light, - my original color is a med. brown but It does not look good with my complexion. I lighten it to a caramel - honey blonde - sometimes even a bit lighter! The secret to never having red tones or brassiness? Use a light ash blonde color! The ';ash'; neutralizes any reds...and some of the colours are gorgeous. You sound like you have my coloring, so take my advice - Go a bit lighter! 33 Is definitely not old - My sister is 43 and still looks like my age!! Just opened her own business, too. I've been doing my own hair for about 17 years...You sound like you're confident so why not express it?

  • I need some hair color advice?

Well alrighty then!, lol, Ok, so anyways. About 4 days ago my hair was white with black roots (I bleached it around 5 times to get it white, and it was in good condition). I decided I wanted to color my hair a light ash brown/medium ash brown color (I have naturally dark ash brown hair). So I went out and bought some Revlon Colorsilk Haircolor-Light Ash Brown, and I colored it following the instructions exactly. When I washed it out, and it was wet, it looked good, but then when it dried, it turned out the part of my hair that was white was dark gray, and my roots were auburn red. So I decided to go a darker color to undo the damage. I went and got Clairol Perfect 10- Medium brown. I colored it again (this was the next day), and when I washed it my hair looked black, and then when it dried, it just looked like a really dark auburn. I really don't like having red tones in my hair cuz I don't look right with red hair, is there any way I can get the red tones out of my hair?I need some hair color advice?
A lot of 'off the shelf' hair colours have red tones placed in them to create a more rich or dramatic effect. You will generally be pressed to find a warm brown hair colour that doesnt contain these tones. The best way to get your perfect hair colour is to consult your colour specialist or hairdresser (nowadays hairdressers are trained in colour treatements) They will be able to select a colour that is right for your skin tone and most importantly you can TELL them that you want to leave out that splice of red (as dyes are made from scratch by blending, you can be specific about whether you want cool or warm tones to your hair). I know that probably doesnt help, seeing as you seem keen on the DIY brands, but trust me, there is nothing better than having confidence and trust in that your colour specialist knows what they are doing and whats right for you :) even if it means spending the extra $$ lol

good luck :)I need some hair color advice?

Okay. So my hair has been through volume 40 bleaching, color corrector, several box colors, one professional coloring done. My hair is blonde, with semi dark roots and it is a pretty long root growth. I have a couple dark hair spots throughout my hair but i part my hair so that you can't tell. I want my hair color back to a pretty almost ash blonde with a few highlights unlike the yellow blonde i have now, but i don't want to damage it even more and im scared that it will turn out all different colors like it has before in the past. http://www.glamouredited.com/hair/hair_c/a>

';To find the perfect hair color to go with your skin tone make sure to choose a base color that is no more than two shades darker or lighter than the natural color of your eyebrows. Believe it or not, the eyebrow color that you are born with compliments your skin tone perfectly. If you dye your hair color too far away from your eyebrow color, your complexion will appear washed-out....

    To enhance any complexion, add some blonde highlights into your base color. Doing so has the same effect as using a self-tanner; the golden tones will illuminate your skin. Just check out how the blonde highlights help make Beyonce glow [see article photo]. Make sure to keep the streaks thin, however. This will help make certain that everything blends in well.';

hope this helps : )HELP!!! HAIR COLOR ADVICE!!?
The easiest way to pick out a color is go to your stylist, have them help you pick out a color using their color swatches and have the stylist do it. you never know what bottles are in the box of hair color at walmart, people switch them and as a stylist I have to fix it and its easier to know what I put in it than to guess what you used at home and then just end up stripping it. The stylist will also have toners on hand just incase you don't like the first coloring service. good luck!
i think maybe a dark brownish auburn color. that would look nice :) sort of like this: http://www.clairol.co.uk/perfect10/image/a>
Oo maybe something brownish reddish. Not too red but enough to see it, I think that would look cute.

    Need hair color advice.?

I don't dye my hair regularly. i did it once. i want to change my hair color. im bored! i have very dark brown hair and i want to make it a bit lighter, maybe very dark blonde. I don't know what color i should use. all the colours that i see on the package that i like, say at the back it's not recommended for dark hair, i don't understand. im a bit too stupid in these things. any suggestions?Need hair color advice.?
When I color my hair myself I use Garnier Fructis. If your hair is really dark and you have never gone blond or really light before I would suggest only going a few shades lighter until you know if you are going to like it. You can always redo it in 4-6 weeks if you want it lighter. You might want to start off with light brown to a medium brown...depending how how dark your hair really is.Need hair color advice.?
honestly the recommendations rally don't matter. You should try a Demi permanent like Natral Instincts so that you can see what you get and it goes away if you don't like it (and i don't think you will like a dark blonde I dyed my hair to get AWAY from that color) i personally like your hair color but you don't and thats all that matters really. I think that you should try like a sort of dark auburn color. its an awesome color. But as I said its your hair and thats what matters.
to go a much lighter colour, you will most likely have to use bleach.

it is best to go to the hair dressers for this, as home dyes will most likely end up with carrot coloured hair.

    trust me!

and consider what your dark regrowth will look like to.
If you are going a lot lighter you should go to a professional because you would have to bleach your hair first. If you just buy a dye then you wont get your hair to blonde.
I personally like dark brown hair. Doesn't matter i you can't dye your hair light. Try black brown.

i'm a colorist, and my opinion would be for you to get both high and low lights. adding some lighter warmer blonde and some medium chocolate brown would be beautiful. i'd recommend just adding the high lights on the top and sides of your hair. it's easier to upkeep it that way, maybe doing the same color you use for low lights to dye the bottom half. you have a nice base color, so just adding to it would bring tons of dimension. make sure when you do it to say you want a natural weave (thinner sections and smaller weave).

I think you should do maybe like a light brown that would be really pretty and maybe get some bangs to (:Hair color advice please? (pictures)?
although im not a hair expert, i would just go to a hair salon and look at the samples of dyed hair because from there you will have a better idea as to what kind of hair color you want as your low lights. You have pretty hair btw!
sorry the pic. wasn't bigger but i found a color that's a shade darker than your hair i was thanking that you could make your highlights that color hope u like it. http://www.lacefrontwigshop.com/images/16-12%20golden%20brown%20w%20honey%20blonde%20lites.jpg
i think u should actualy get veryy thin lighter blonde in your hair and maybe thin sandy blonde too. blonde is a good color on you. and i also think you should get some layers and bangs.
you could put a very light brown color in it......just pick one out at walmart or something and then run your fingers through you hair with it...leave it on 2 minutes less than it says to and itll look great..........good luck!!!!
    a light light brown

So i asked a question earlier about getting highlights. I am 23 and a mother of 2. I have been wanting to get highlights for a while but I want something that doesnt need much maintanance. I know that highlights take a lot of work and money with having to get them retouched and all. I also havent dyed my hair in 6 years so i am a lil hesitant on dying ALL of my hair again. It seems like peekaboo highlights would be great for me since it wont show the roots growing out. My only problem is that I dont kow what color to get. I did some research and it looks like i have a warm skin tone. My hair is currently in layers, with the longest layer to my shoulder blades. I am growing out my hair i would like to have it about 4-5 inches below my shoulder blades. my hair is naturally wavy and super thick and frizzy so i tend to just let my hair air dry, would peekaboos look good it i dont really style my hair that often. if i do style it i just straighten it.

    this is my straight hair

Since you don't want anything that is high maintanence, you should try a frosting kit! They are really simple to use, if you haven't done them before, but I would suggest you have a friend help pull your hair through the cap.

Anyways, since you're hair is darker, I think a caramel color would go great! The kit gives you 2 different types of hooks so your highlights can be chunky and bold or fine. By alternating them you'll get a fairly natural and nice color.

I used a frost kit by L'oreal and it was caramel! It turned out great!

    Good luck!Hair color advice (pics)?
Peekaboo would look really cute, any color would be good, you could go crazy and do a blue or a purple or you could do a natual like blonde or a couple shade lighter than your hair now. Good luck in what ever you chose!!!

Your second pic doesn't show up.
What i've done, because I too hate having to go and maintain my hair just about every month, I got low-lights they're great and not too showy. IDK what color to do with your hair... Try asking your stylist when you go, and work something out...
    You are real pretty!

I'd say a very dark caramel colour or a deep mousy brown. Something natural besides platinum blonde! Lol +%26amp;a, a reddish brown would look cute too. Good luck with whatever you choose, :)
the 2nd pic doesnt show up.
dark brown, dark red. Or purple highlights. my frien has ur color hair and she put purple highlights in it. (looks good.) Avoid platinum blonde.
you should get amber toned highlights....they would go good with your hair color and lighten up your face a bit
    hmm..

qet like..Hiqhliqhts buht not like streaks..

    like half way...well streaks..

buht not up to your roots..

    qet purple or red.

    it'll fit youh perfect
I think you should dye your hair a reddish-brown color. But not too red.
I think your hair is pretty the way it is.
i suggest some carmel gold high lights

Hair color advice? please help !! ?

ok so this is me.. (i look funny - im showing my tongue.. lol - )

so im the first one on the left side..

im growing my hair now, so its going to be like 10cm longer soon.. so just look at my face and hair color -- not the length, because its different.. but as you can see i still have layers.. once my hair is long, -- which will be soon, i want to leave the top (shorter) layers the same color - brown, but the bottom layers (longer ones) i want to dye.. i dont know if i should dye the bottom layers black or blonde? what do you think?? any makeup advice or anything ?? any advice is helpfulll... oh and if i wanted my bangs -- how should i cut them? - pictures of hairstyles that would look good on me are great.. -- again, my hair isnt that short anymore..

    http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/dd16//a>Hair color advice? please help !! ?
Your hair in the pic is gorgeous!! I would cut it back like that. And i wouldn't color it or anything. Coloring my hair was the worst decision i ever made, i wish i had my natural hair, and plus it is unhealthy for your hair. But if you were to dye the underneath, definitely do it darker than your hair on top.

But i say leave it how it was!!

    Good Luck!

    Hair color ADVICE NEEDED?

I have a cool complexion, pale skin with a pink undertone and gray-blue/green eyes. I am 15, dying my hair for the first time (technically, my moms dying it and she has dyed her own hair for 20+ years)

So I am definitely using L'Oreal brand.

Here are the three colors I'm looking at. Please provide an answer for all three shades. Are they Warm or cool hair colors, based on the box color?

    Thanks!Hair color ADVICE NEEDED?
if i were you i would't go with a red toned hair color, because i did once and now no matter what color i put on my hair it fades to a reddish toned color. But if you like that i would go with the crushed garnet or french roast (: Good luck to you!
