I have medium brown hair, and everytime i try to color it a lighter color it doesn't turn anything like it says it will, i usually end up with red tones instead of golden. What is the best brand of hair color, that will acutally turn my hair a lighter brown with no red tones? What is a good hair color product that actually turns it the color it says?
This is a very common problem... I think hair color in a box should be banned...it is false advertising as it sounds like you have found out.......
Ther is no way scientifically or chemically that everyone that picks up that box is going to have a result like the photo on the front.
Why?....
Understanding the theory of chemistry - explains clearly there is absoutely NO WAY that a:
red head
a blonde.
a brunette and an
african american %26gt; %26gt; %26gt;%26gt;can purchase the same box of hair color and have it turn out correctly.
I have been explaining this entire process on a Hair Blog i have started..
.its late...just go there and check it out...
you can learn exaclty which color to use at home with one tube of colour ...a bowl to mix in, a tint brush to paint the colour on

when buying a color remember if you buy like a 6 r the R indicates red tones o = orange , br brown red Just remember not to go straight r and you should be okay there is a website by clariol
Please go to a professional, you may have to have it bleached and then toned for the correct color.
Thats why you go to a professional to do this procedure. It is not an easy task. I am a hair stylist. If your hair pulls red, that means you need to go away from that. Pick an ashier tone, instead of gold tones. Pick neutral.
MY BEST ADVICE, IS GO SEE A PROFESSIONAL.
Saddle soap.
I would go to a salon and have your hair professionally done. I know it can be expensive but it's worth it. Home products don't last and they don't look good unless you know what you are doing and have been using the product for years.
