So , i have decided to dye my ahir tomorow but instead of wasting 100$ at the salon , im going to do it at home. I need help about picking a color. I have dark brown eyes and naturally i have dark brown hair and a fair complexion . I have long hair , and i had blond highlights 2 years ago , i then dyed my hair dark dark brown (close to black) and it started to fade. Now my reall hair color is coming though , but the highllights ae starting to appear again , how do i pick a hair color thats like my real one , , and whats the best brand ?
also i was thinking about first dying my hair alll dark brown , and then dying the bottom blondish , not bleach blond but like caramelish , hmm your opinions ?I reallly neeeed hair color advice?
Don't dye it too much, hair dyes ruin your hair and cause it to be frizzy and dried out.
go for a color that is slightly lighter than what you have now.
personally, i think dark with light tips would look amazing.I reallly neeeed hair color advice?
yup a box dye will fade like that! I would say go to Sally's and look at the ion colors, its the best brand they have there...match as close as you can to your roots, but its gonna depend on what your previously dyed hair is doing. if its still darker than roots, your not gonna be able to lighten it with hair color and make it match, its gonna involve color remover which is a headache and will more than likely make a crazy mix of orange tones. if its gone lighter than roots you may be able to pull it off. depending on how long the hair is, I would say get at least 4 oz of color, you will mix that to 4 oz of developer, (8 oz total) since you are going darker or the same like I think you are, you will need 10 volume.
As far as this top brown, bottom blonde, that is not an at home thing to do....if you went dark first then tryed to go blonde, it would very easily be a train wreck, its a lot easier to take hair darker than it is to take dark hair lighter! im also not sure what you mean by that, do you mean like the underneath layers or truly the bottom half of your hair? email me and let me know and I can help more, but that seems like something left to a pro!
Stick with the more expensive brands rather than the cheaper ones. Cheaper ones are so not worth the money saved. I suggest you color your hair a dark brown to like start anew and then add any unique touches to it like the caramel on the bottom because if you don't it may come out looking like you just have too many colors going on in all the wrong places. I know from experience, whenever in doubt about hair play it safe or suffer the consequences... I had numerous occasions were I colored my hair, then i absolutely couldn't stand it so the very next day before going anywhere or doing anything, went to the pharmacy bought a new color and colored my hair again. That easedd the pain a little but that just made my hair really dry and icky..
