I just had my hair dyed yesterday. I had my hair really messed up about 2 months ago (pretty bleached out!) and I wanted it warmed up. In turn the color is a little darker than I would like. It's a dark blonde. It's pretty(not brassy more on the ash tones, but not bad at all) but I wanted more of my light blonde color pulled through my hair creating more depth. Can I go to a salon today and have them add some highlights with a color remover? I was told when you add color you aren't damaging the hair so I am thinking it would be ok as long as they don't use a bleach or a decolorizer. Is that correct? Thank you.Hair color advice. Please any professional advice is greatly appreciated!?
Yes, a salon will be able to add highlights to your hair, though if they use a color remove, it may be more difficult to tell what shade they will turn out-remember, each color, ie black, is made up of many different colors blended together, therefore, it is hard to tell which colors will come through, though it will likely have a brassy tint to it.
If you are drastically changing your hair color and use a permanent dye, adding color can damage your hair, mainly by drying it out. Yes, bleach will harm your hair much more than regular hair coloring.
Hope that helps!Hair color advice. Please any professional advice is greatly appreciated!?
no no no no color remover! that is like pure acetone on hair color %26amp; totally bleaches! i used to use color remover to make my blonde hair white!....... but you can add highlights....whatever you do do not streak it yourself...usually when people do it themselves it come out looking like a box job....goto a salon %26amp; have then foil it...... or frenchbraid your hair %26amp; make the folloeing homemade product ....mix in spray bottle hairspray (whatever brand) juice from 2 lemons %26amp; about 1tsp of vinegar...spray you frenchbraids down with this mixture then go do something outside for a good 2 hours or more...letting the sun dry you now wet hait....this always worked for me %26amp; my sister when we were adding natural highlights...but to get a more natural streak....not the scunk chunks people do....you need to frenchbraid your hair...
if in the end you want nasty fryed hair, be my guest
Anytime that you want to have your hair lightened it required the use of a bleach or peroxide type of chemical. I would suggest that you wait at least a week or two before you attempt any more color/dye on your hair. You can try asking them about any product that is all natural (no chemicals) they usually use this on women who are pregnant. Good Luck.
E; do not use a color remover, per say, they are very harsh, unless you mean some kind of bleach, that's OK not seeing your hair, but by your description, I would say that a few high lites, in a few well chosen spots should do the trick. please don't say color remover to a colorist, it will give them a wrong idea for a very harsh method to use. the term is color lift. good luck
If you have ash in your hair you need to go to a salon. If you do it yourself it will turn green. Stop coloring your hair. I had mine colored 5 times and it started breaking off. I had to cut off all my hair into a bob and have patches of short hair on my head. If you have only had your hair colored twice I would be very careful about any more coloring. If you decide to risk it wait at least two months before doing anything else. Be warned though. Also next time make them do a test strand and show you the color before you do your whole head. I wish I had done that.
