I need some hair color advice?

I have an ivory skin tone with dark brown eyes, my hair is also really black. I want to do something different but I am unsure as to what to do. I thought about going red but I am unsure as to what to do. I have no money for a salon and i just need some advice.I need some hair color advice?
if your hair is black don't try to lighten it that much, you need to do it gradually or your hair will either be wrecked from bleach, or will not turn out the color you like. i would suggest gradually trying to lighten your hair, going from black to a light color can be difficult and expensive to do. you could try for the darker burgundy red shades.I need some hair color advice?
i wouldnt dye it ALL. at first, i would just start out with some caramel highlights. if you like it enough, consider dying it a dark dark brown. but you should start off easy incase you dont like it =]
go brown.. red is really hard to get and keep
try putting some streaks in your hair before you do anything drastic

As a stylist, I will tell you that it's not the best idea for you to get a box color from the store.... you will end up in the end paying double the money to correct the damage that they do. I would save your pennies till you have enough to go to the salon.... color wise, some nice subtle reds or honey browns would be nice. You don't want to go too light cause you would look like a zebra!
