How do I fix my hair color mistake?

Six weeks ago I used honey brown dye on my med brown hair. The color I got is coppery reddish and I don't like it. If I used a darker brown dye would it really cover the bad color and can I do this now or do I need to wait longer before redying it? Any suggestions on a good brand of hair dye would also be helpful. How do I fix my hair color mistake?
Are you using box colours?

you shouldn't, they won't work.

if you go to a salon someone can get you a hair color that will work with your eye and skin colour.

AND, if it doesn't work out, just demand they give you a new colour job or your money back. =]How do I fix my hair color mistake?
When you use a dye with peroxide you will be lightening your hair by taking out some of the color. If you dye your hair again, you will be taking out more color, the darker brown will fade and leave you with more coppery hair.

What I would do is go to Sally's and ask the clerk if they have a rinse you can use while your hair grows out. Rinses don't bleach the color out of your hair.

Good luck.

If the hair dye is too dark, try L鈥橭real鈥檚 Color Zap for a reversal. This kit works after one application, gently removing dye from your hair while leaving your natural hair color intact and ready to recolour. It works on permanent hair dyes too.

If the colour ended up too light, you can try and fix it by recolouring your hair a shade or two darker.

If all else fails, go to a hairdresser. When my friend screwed up my hair (5 colours all over due to bleaching), I had to go straight to the hairdresser... :(
OMG DONT USE A BOX COLOR!!! go to sallys and get an ashy tone brown and that will counter act the red and make it neutral you wont spend more than ten bucks. i would prefer you to see a stylist but if you cant afford it at least go to sallys, wella is the best brand from there.
Use REVLON its only $3 and works really good, you can get it at walmart or target. if you dye it a darker brown it should cover it up pretty good, just leave it in a while. you can redye right now but after this time dont redye it for a while.
Go to a hairdresser.
