I put a permanent hair dye in my hair, but it did not lighten as much as I wanted (I have origianally dark hair). Do I have to wait to add more permanent color or is it okay to try it again right away?
It looks really good I just want it a little lighter. How long do I have to wait to change hair color?
I have colored since I was 16, I'm 42 now. Trust me..wait @4 weeks between or your hair gets extremely dry and brittle from the over processing. If you have dark and want lighter, be careful not to get too drastic. Work into having lighter hair. I color my own out of a box. IF you can afford it, go to a salon for a visit and get their advice. I think there is an 800 customer svc. # on the box you purchased. Call them and they will give you advice based on their product you are using. Once you discover a brand you like, stick with it. Rub a slight amount of conditioner on your ends BEFORE applying the color to keep them a little healthier. Just a little, not heavy. Good luckHow long do I have to wait to change hair color?
You should probably wait a couple of weeks. If you want to get lighter you should consider stripping it. It's not good for your hair, but it will get you the right results. Or, if you're trying a lighter dye, do the strand test to see which color works that way you won't have to worry about doing your whole head again, you can just move to a lighter or darker color.
I always thought you had to wait a few Months to change hair color. But...My Son's Girl Friend changes Her's every few Days and Her hair looks great, Shinny and healthy. Since I've known Her ( about a Year ) I have started changing my hair color more often. My hair to looks great, shinny, healthy and full of body.
i would say wait a little while because permanent hair color damages your hair make sure you condition your hair with the proper products
I would say 3 to 4 weeks.
One of the best ways to ruin your hair is to over process it.
if you like the base colour that is already there the safest and healthiest way to go a little lighter, would be to have a full head of highlights put in a shade or 2 lighter than the base colour. It will give the appearance of being lighter all over, but will also give it a lot of texture and a 3 dimensional quality. This you can do at any time, however if you would rather put an another all over on-th-scalp colour, I would give it a week or 2 especially if you tend to have sensitive skin
It's o k that you can hightlight it straight away, but is better to wait for at least 3 months to have an other permanent hair colour done.
2days. That is the min. I would go. To lighten dark hair you have to strip out the color that is in your hair naturaly. If the color lightner you chose didn't go llight enough for you then you will need to do it again. If you only want it a little lighter do a strand test. That will let you see what color you will get . Also try it with less time . That will go light but not too light. Remember dark hair to blond will go thru orange and red. Good Luck.
The box says 3-4 months. I would not recolor my hair on my own before this time. If you don't think you can wait that long consult a pro.
