I just dye my hair a chocolate cherry and it's fading already. It hasn't been that long since I dye it, like a week. I have naturally curly hair and I like to wash it everyday so my curls will look nice. But since i dye it I'm trying to wash it every two days. Is there any hair products that will help keep the color looking nice and my curls? What can I do to keep my hair color from fading?
The absolute best thing you can do is use a color safe shampoo. Ask your stylist to recommend one. A color care shampoo form the same line that made the color she used on your hair would be best, as they are designed to work together.
Also, ArTec has a line of color depositing shampoos. They are (obviously) color safe, and color is ';put back'; into your hair every time you shampoo, so you are basically beating the color at its own game.
Another simple trick...the hotter the water you use when you wash your hair, the faster it will fade. So turn down the temperature! What can I do to keep my hair color from fading?
Try a shampoo that's made for coloured hair. There's lots of them. Also, you're wise to only wash it every 2 days - that'll help.
use double color
Use a color enhancing shampoo. Paul mitchell, Goldwell, and John Freida all make different versions. Since your haircolor has a red hue to it and reds tend to fade VERY fast, use the red version of the color shampoo and conditioner. I would also recommend using a deep conditioning treatment once a week and use styling products that deliver protection from the sun, because UV rays can be very detrimental to color. Otherwise, good luck! Pain is beauty!
