I would like to go back to being blonde, but I do not want to spend the huge amount of money to get it professionally done. What is the best and safest brand to use at home? What is the best brand to change your hair color at home?
well, it depends on what color your hair is now. If it's black (or a really dark brown or red), then you might want to get it professionally done to start with because going blonde requires stripping your hair of all its pigment (pretty damaging.)
However, if you still just want to do it at home, I would recommend Ion Color Brilliance liquid hair color from Sally's Beauty supply. I dye my hair a dark brown, and this is what I use. I love it because its not expensive (about 3 or 4 bucks for a single bottle), and you can customize your color. It may be a bit daunting because you DO have to buy the color and developer separately and it can be confusing. But I guarantee you that the worker there will help you out because they all are professionals and would be more than will to help.
Surely going back to blonde is tricky and your hair will get damaged no matter what, but I would definitely recommend staying away from those cheap, boxed dyes that you get from Wal-Mart.
