I dyed my hair black two days ago. Since I've got naturally medium blonde hair, I'm worried that the rich raven color it is now will fade/wash out quickly.
How can I keep my hair this rich black color, and what can I do as my blonde starts to grow back in?How can I maintain my new hair color, and what do I do as my roots start to grow in?
The biggest enemy of colored hair is the sun. I use Dove Advanced Color Therapy, it's a nice spray-on product that protects against sun and keeps the color looking fresh for longer. Aside from that, use a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair and if your hair is on the dry side, use a deep conditioner once a week. You'll need to stay on top of the touchup colorings because of the major difference between your natural hair color and the color you've dyed it. You'll need to touch up every 4-6 weeks, following the directions in the box.How can I maintain my new hair color, and what do I do as my roots start to grow in?
If it starts to fade, dye it through the whole length again to reinforce the colour. Of course, as your hair grows in, you'll have to redye the roots. I don't think it will fade since black is the hardest colour to lighten. Use Pantene Pro-V Midnight Expressions to help enhance your colour.
Since there are more porous parts of the hair toward the tips, there is a greater ability for the hair to contain the dye. Don't worry about it too much. :)
touch it up. just color your roots. they have 'touch-up' kits.
find a shampoo tht helps tht:)
I think they make shamppos that will help with this, or rinses, I'm not really sure about black, but I've seen them for brown blonde and red hair.
Just avoid clarifying shampoos and buy shampoos that are made for color treated hair. As your roots grow in, just buy another box of dye, or root touch up if the brand makes it, and just dye your roots, not the rest of your hair.
Hope this helps!
