Need some hair-coloring advice please!?

Am thinking of getting my hair colored for the first time. Is it better to go to a salon or to do it by myself? My hair is quite rough and dry; will coloring make it even worse? Also any recommended shampoos and conditioners (can be high-end ones) to maintain color-treated hair? And one last question...what's the ball-park figure for hair-coloring cost at an average salon?Need some hair-coloring advice please!?
yes, it would deff. be best to go to a salon. the color looks better and lasts longer. it fades out fast from the ones from the store. it was also help with the roughness of your hair. it usually costs around 45 dollars for an all over dye or 65 for highlights.. that is with a cut.Need some hair-coloring advice please!?
It depends on how light or how dark you are going from your natural color. Plus it depends on how long your hair is. Hair closest to the scalp processes faster (due to body heat) and if your hair is longer it can come out uneven.

Most salons will give you a free consultation. You'd be better of starting there.
