I need some hair color advice?

Well alrighty then!, lol, Ok, so anyways. About 4 days ago my hair was white with black roots (I bleached it around 5 times to get it white, and it was in good condition). I decided I wanted to color my hair a light ash brown/medium ash brown color (I have naturally dark ash brown hair). So I went out and bought some Revlon Colorsilk Haircolor-Light Ash Brown, and I colored it following the instructions exactly. When I washed it out, and it was wet, it looked good, but then when it dried, it turned out the part of my hair that was white was dark gray, and my roots were auburn red. So I decided to go a darker color to undo the damage. I went and got Clairol Perfect 10- Medium brown. I colored it again (this was the next day), and when I washed it my hair looked black, and then when it dried, it just looked like a really dark auburn. I really don't like having red tones in my hair cuz I don't look right with red hair, is there any way I can get the red tones out of my hair?I need some hair color advice?
A lot of 'off the shelf' hair colours have red tones placed in them to create a more rich or dramatic effect. You will generally be pressed to find a warm brown hair colour that doesnt contain these tones. The best way to get your perfect hair colour is to consult your colour specialist or hairdresser (nowadays hairdressers are trained in colour treatements) They will be able to select a colour that is right for your skin tone and most importantly you can TELL them that you want to leave out that splice of red (as dyes are made from scratch by blending, you can be specific about whether you want cool or warm tones to your hair). I know that probably doesnt help, seeing as you seem keen on the DIY brands, but trust me, there is nothing better than having confidence and trust in that your colour specialist knows what they are doing and whats right for you :) even if it means spending the extra $$ lol

good luck :)I need some hair color advice?
